How I Did It
by 21CCS
Tools I Used
Audacity, for everything.
Samples I Used
It was so long ago, all I can tell you is that it was two Creative Common samples, a keyboard riff with and without percussion.
Original Samples
The vocal track.
Process
Edited sound samples into the backing track, using the second eight bars of the non-percussion track as the intro, then the +percussion track in a loop for the rest.
Recorded the vocals with a bit of phase and reverb on the first four lines, and echo on the last two words.
Other Notes
At the time, I remembered feeling elated that I had collaborated with people I didn't know, and would never know, yet somehow we, together, created this cool bit of music. I remembered thinking "this could/should be a thing".
Now, there's ccmixter - it seems if an idea hangs out in the Universe long enough, it eventually becomes a reality...
