I used an a cappella by Anjibee and it is non-commercial.
Original Samples
I created everything but the vocal by playing elements from various tools.
Process
Brought vocal in. Created an intro to fit the mood of the message in the vocal. Added pads, guitar, and drum elements for the 1st minute then spread them around the song, attempting to build it up yet keep the same tone throughout. Had the slice the vocal some to change the timing and cadence of the spoken word to fit. Chose to keep the message of the vocal the focus. I simply added a soundtrack to it. I compressed the bass and drum parts then compressed the whole thing in the end. Tried to eq a bit but it didn't seem to help except for the vocal part which had too much bass.
Other Notes
Around two minutes into the remix it began to feel too long. In retrospect, maybe I could have sliced it and made the space between the vocals shorter to speed it up. I thought what she was saying was interesting and I felt like keeping it intact this time around so that is what drove me mainly.
