Tools I Used

Hardware:
My new laptop. Cheap Evolution keyboard MK-361C. I don`t have professional sound card, so I use my build-in with some latency (asio4all doesn`t work for me) ;(
Monitors: I use second hand veeeery old Grundig (650) that are not for making music ;)) and cheap headphones. So no real monitoring to the sound. But I am waiting my Tapco by Mackie External Sound card (USB.Link), and I will buy Tapco S-8 monitors, so little by little I am getting to small portable recording studio.

Software:
- ACID pro 6.0c (demo version)
FXS: Waves L1, Sony Reverb, Delay, EQs

Samples I Used

Natchoongi (Main Vocals)
Natchoongi (Vocal Snippets)
Natchoongi (Loops) by: Salman Ahmad

Original Samples

I recorded bass lines, keyboards, pads, and do some drum sliceling, which takes me a lot of hours to make this drums.

Process

First listen to original song many times. Then identify key note ans bpm (which I mistake in that remix). Record some ideas. Then relax. Then before deadline Remix cocktail with sprite, peppermint liqueur with little ice and start to work ;) Take a look at 12th floor window to beautifully mountains, then open ACID and then I start to travel in my mind with music.

Initially I stared this remix as drum-and base, then I thought it will be not very original and I remove all drum patterns and start making and sliceling new drums.

Then I record bass line. Then I put some vocals and samples from Salman Ahmad. I reversed the guitar. Then I re-arranged all this and start to build part by part. There are three parts. Introduction, middle energy part and exit part. In first and last part I put same theme. In last I change it little bit.

Other Notes

Everything is inspiration and listening. It was very energy and interesting to build this remix.

I will publish all recorded samples and midi tracks as construction kit, as soon as I get time.

May be because I am near to the East i like Natchoongi melodies and rhythm and feel them very close to me.
