What’s Christmas without a little pop ditty? It’s loose in places and the vocal unsure here and there, but I’ve never moved this fast (still slow for many of you). This track is dedicated to my family and Little Annie.

It probably sounds trite, but I really do love California, even at Christmas :)

Special thanks to urmymuse for contributing such inspiring stems. I chopped them up a bit. Here’s the pell and backing vocal stems in case you fancy a remix!

California Winter

I’m watching the sunrise
With you
Not a cloud in the sky
Still cold here this morning
But by afternoon
A wind will be warming

Our city by the ocean
Where I’ve never seen it snow
But wouldn’t dream of leaving
No place I’d rather go
(California)

Ride to the promenade
On two wheels
Little lunch by the seaside
Near the cliff on a park bench
Where a date and her name is inscribed

Yea our city by the ocean
Where I’ve never seen it snow
The place we hid from Christmas
After He took her home

California winter
California
California winter
California

Our little dream of a paradise
Here and now in paradise

The peace rose in the garden
Is flowering
Despite these dark days
Tonight at our fire Orion
Will rise as you hold me, and we’ll celebrate

Our city by the ocean
Where we’ve never seen it snow
At Christmas new emotion
Stirring love, makes it grow

Oh the feeling by the ocean
Pulls my heart to my Soul
I wouldn’t dream of leaving
No place I’d rather go

California winter
California
California winter
California
No place I’d rather go

Snowflake’s remix of Urmymuse’s “Festive” is an energetic, spirited, and well, festive tune. Makes you wanna leave for Cali in a convertible with the top down…but for some of us that would probably mean hypothermia right about now :)
