This mix took on a life of it’s own. I tried to stay true to onlymeith’s sound, but deviated from that path as I was following the muse. I kept King Crimson in the back of my mind as an amulet—which helped keep me on course.

I am grateful that along the way of this mix I got to know the beauty of onlymeith’s work, which is both mysterious and strong. I hope this track is somewhat of a reflection of that.

All of the backbone of Treading Water is built 100% around samples of onlymeith’s Gold and Unicorn mixes—both of which are must downloads. Then I added vocals and guitar, and some extra beats to the mix. Snowflake came in to sing backgrounds as an extra added treat, and my daughters helped sing on the gang vocals in the middle and end verses. It was a perfect day for a pre-fathers day mix session!

So, between the joys of summer, and the struggle to survive—I found my happy place mixing this track. I hope you you find it too.
