SECRET MIXTER ASSIGNMENT: VO1K1
I wanted to say, I really enjoyed making this. The rhymes were custom written for and inspired by the work. Lyrics are below, and some funny notes on the lyrics below that. ——————————— The idea The guiding experiment here was the use of slippy slowdowns. There’s four layers here: Snowflakes effects Drums The synth Me So all four of those elements experience slowdowns separately from each other. It was fun! I really enjoy the instrumental, it’s trippy and relaxing. I’ve included it as a secondary download. ————————- Spotify Links Please go here to listen to the piece on streaming. There is a megamix that I did, all v01ok1 on all five tracks, but after listening to Speck I’ll upload it separately later sometime. (And licensing issues it’s sampling+) Which by the way… WIRED STUFF IS GOOD TO BE PUBLISHED!!!!! Those are two separate singles with different material. ————————————— The How I used Izotope Vinyl to create the effects on the records. Snowflake’s modified bird sounds are part of the download as they will be used in future remixes (already have one). Vo1k1’s main sample was used in it’s entirety, with no looping. After I want to say the thirty second mark, every time there’s a major slowdown, the sample reverses! In CA, if it rains, umbrellas come out. People run to cars. People pull up their shirts to cover their hair. Magazines, newspapers are used. In Washington state… hardly anyone cares. You don’t see umbrellas out here. You don’t see newspapers over heads. No one runs. Everyone just accepts getting wet and deals with it.
