Suggestion for CCMixter project- GM Only!

stellarartwars 181 posts	. permalink Tue, May 28, 2013 @ 8:27 AM How about seeking compositions created entirely with the General Midi soundset? And including MIDI files too. I think this could stock up the library of material available to work with here. What do you think?

I’m curious what others think! :) General MIDI is a standard sound set that most keyboards have, which means that compositions written on one synth will sound similar when played back on another. The great thing about MIDI files is they can be perfectly transposed and time stretched, which is always a bit of a bodge when done with audio files- in addition individual notes and drums can be edited. I think more copyleft/cc midifiles would be a lot of use to those in the free music community.
