Sorry, I’m not agreed. The Birthday of ccMixter is the most important date all over our cc Universe. Turning point of the history of free culture. We are a creatve collective not one man show. We can workin online, we need arrange our publicity. The 5th B-day is a very kewl slant to ping 2 our facilities.
See Playing For Change method. Selfdefinive, gererative, self-upgradable, organic. Our possibilities are not depending on financial handicaps.
Special Secret Mixter is an important thang. Can we hear more about details?
This info will be the focus of our collective knowledge. Like the nucleorus in a human cell.
Keep on rockin Grandmasta V.!

I’m glad to hear about a new secret mixter, etc. That’s cool.

I was looking at the wikipedia for the mixter, and it just says “2004”.
I know that there are always several ways to “date” something, but if we dated mixter from its first day of being open for sample and remixes, when is its “first day”? I’d like to edit that into wikipedia.

it sure was well before my time here and VS probably has a specific day in mind, but here are some related data points from what’s currently findable via “last page” buttons on remixes and uploads pages respectively:

first upload
first remix

whois reveals that the domain was created on: 14-Dec-2003 06:40:13 UTC

and the November 2004 issue of Wired magazine is well documented.

I guess Spin, 10.11.2004 is better for us… Some conjugations in the seventh house were not so friendly 08.11.2004.
