My Roland XV-5050 is currently emitting nothing but what sounds like an EP patch with heavy distortion, no matter what setting it’s on. I’ve tried resetting it, unplugging/re-plugging it, even the “demo song” does this. It’s nothing to do with my MIDI setup; anyone else have a clue what’s going on/ever had similar happen to them? The unit’s around 7 years old or so, and unfortunately I can’t currently afford to have it looked at, or replace it :-(
I’ve emailed Roland’s support about it, but while I’m waiting, I figure maybe some tech-head here might have an insight…

It´s possible the internal battery “caput”. Replace it.
