Laurie Anderson jamming with Trent Reznor and Django Reinhardt :) A really superb offering, and a perfect demonstration of ccMixter’s premise that building on other peoples’ stuff leads to superior work. Exotic and yet eminently accessibly foot tappable.

I love this. Great arrangement of some very well-produced loops, and the vocals work perfectly with it. Reminds me a lot of Beats Antique if they were about 20x more chill.

Whoa and YEAH! I’m gonna make a different comparison here… makes me think of the band Garbage and even Paula Cole… But comparisons aside, damn snowflake! This ROCKS!

thank you Kara! i love Garbage and they were an influence in my band days. I actually played a show with Paula Cole in San Francisco back in 2000. I was so excited when I met her because she had been playing nonstop in my car for a year — I made a complete fool of myself overtaken my star-envy. I am truly honored to be compared with some of my favorite artists. And thank you for the Ed Pick. I am honored!!! :D

“Tell my why you like me strapped in your abyss?” — is that what I heard?

Awesome track — love the heavy groove the underlies ALL of this. Bravo!

Oh I’d forgotten to upload the lyrics. Done!

“Tell me why tell me why you languish trapped in your abyss”

Thanks for taking the time to share your comments - I appreciate it!

Superb work. Reminds me strangely of If You Can’t Dance by the Spice Girls, which has the same sort of descending portamento bass.

This mixter seems to be a real killer one! (and even though I generally like the music I make I’m almost embarrassed by the superior talents of others- still, hugely entertaining as well as educational)

Fantastic! Reminded me also of a strange musical marriage between INXS and Laurie Anderson…who knew that a hot combo would create an epic snowflake

WOW! This is off the charts Emily. Your talents never cease to amaze me. When I first heard this I said, this is ok, but after a couple of listens, you have another hit. Reminds me of a song Money Man (just looked it up) Saltnpepper (featuring En Vouge)
