this is what I call fun - slightly overexposed hi-hat and that violin :) - yummy :)

good job with the violin … maybe a little forward in the mix … drums are a bit naive .. and sound stilted - maybe some people like that i dont know - its all opinion - peace

Hey RadioTimes… agree with merchant on the drums, bass seems a lot louder than the snare (hi hat too)… but thats small stuff, I really like the feel of this mix, I think increasing snare vol would spoil the mix, its a soft / gentle track and over snaring just doesn’t suit the overall vibe. Maybe more a case of reducing the bass drums presence and taking the hi-hat down a notch. Strings sound right to me and I really like the mono / compressed vocal - gives the music more impact… yes yes.

Thanks guys for the constructive remarks. Its always nice to have people take the time to think through the piece and whilst I might not always agree about levels etc the comments are much appreciated. In any case when anyone offers advice I always go back and try the ideas out as you never know what you might learn!

Thanks again!
