Hello, this is pretty awesome! No idea how you got the tempo matching between the elements so elegantly, but you got it down and I’m grooving out here enjoying the blues.

Thanks khidir!

I left Rebecca’s vocal exactly as it was. The drums are chopped and stretched around a lot, but I’m pleased that it ends up sounding a bit like a live performance!

This is so good I suppose oD expects me to forgive him for being unfaithful. But the reality is: back to obedience classes, boy.

Really nice piano playing and arrangement oD!
At the beginning I thought you were heading for a straight motown theme until you hit that second chord in the chorus then resolved it back to the orginal theme.
I think ciggie should let you back into the house based on that single chord alone.
I wouldn’t be too upset if you uploaded the piano/fretless bass for a bit of crooning Motown style.

Glad you liked that progression - it’s my favourite bit too!

As for the upload, your wish is my command (well, within reason) - I’ll be pleased if I end up in your 1001 nights story (ok 365)

I am very enamored at the masterful production that has been put forth. Ol Dog you are quite the amazing magician. As long as I can keep tossing You biscuits, I will. And I hope you keep fed with creativity that transcends the usual paradigms of human consciousness….

this is awesome, really masterful.

I’ve now heard a bunch of remixes of her voice - are the pells thin on the bottom? There seems to be some missing body resonance in the low ranges - know what I mean? could very well just be me.

superb mix.

thanks Victor.

Yes, I think the pell is a bit thin on lower frequencies - I did try to play around with it, but only made it worse. More than made up for by her great musicality tho!

I’ve tried another mix, played with the EQ on the voice - better or worse do you think? - I know you have nothing better to do than sit around listening to my mixes ;)

The arrangement is excellent and nothing less than I would expect from you.

Normally on your mixes the sound production is excellent with all the instruments sitting in lots of space and consequently punching their way through the mix. On this one I felt it all seemed a little flat sounding (frequency wise not pitch wise!) which for me distracted a little from the mix.

Musically though..masterful!

I had another go at this, so if you have a moment perhaps you could lend me your ears, as some bloke said.

Yes that’s got me back in the really comfy chair!

I thought twice about my first comment as I know it is unfair to comment too much on technical things when we all have more to do than sit and polish and repolish mixes but your standard is so high and such a joy to listen too I didn’t want you to think you could start getting sloppy!!:O)

Thanks for taking time out to make the adjustments.

Thanks TJ!

I’ve been working my way through those Real Book tunes recently, trying to improve my jazz piano - maybe it is rubbing off on me a little!
