There’s a bitter-sweet feel to this. I’m thinking of a dramatisation of Merrick’s story that I watched as a child. And for some reason, your treatment of the song just brought out something melancholic in me. After the song has ended, I’m almost afraid to play it again. Don’t get me wrong — I’m saying this is really fine work.
