the backing mix on this is very cool. i think the vocal track might be a bit hot on the signal, but you did a nice job pairing up the mood of the vocal track with your own sound.

i’d love to use this backing mix for an idea if you would be up for posting a “spokenless” version (or the samples).

I think the voice is a little hot—I wanted to give it a resonant bass, because it was the slightest bit thin, but I over-did.

I’ll post the voice-less version as a sample, or at least a good chunk of it.

I see what you were trying to achieve, the problem though is with the plosives, it clearly wasn’t recorded in the best of conditions. She does have a nice voice though, and it would be a real shame to destroy it with EQ thinning. Hmm, an interesting problem.

I love the Japanese vocal, and you’ve reminded me of my ambition to learn to speak a little before I visit…when I can afford it :)

5 stars just for the backing and the sharing of cool Japan stuff, lol :)

I like the backing better than what I did with the vocals, too. I am glad folks picked up the melody sample and took it to better places.

Reminds me of Arovane and his song, Cry Osaka, Cry. (Lilies, 2004) Excellent soundscape and first rate mix. Once again, you’ve proven to be a well rounded and innovative composer.
