First of all, thanks for starting and administering the secretmixter. It’s worked out very well.

This one has a lot of disparate ingredients, and I like the way that melody, chill, discord and noise blend here. I like the denseness of the mix. I like the way there are little unexpected things in the background. The mix is really interesting all the way through, but the integration from the intro into the first melodic theme is not smooth. There’s also some cut-off at the end, when a fade extro might work better. You’ve really created a solid piece, though, and that melodic theme is haunting in this context.

Not at all! It was an idle idea and I’m just glad people decided to join in! My thanks go to you folks for playing along. :)

Giving it a fresh listen, you’re right, I need to smooth out a few transitions. Thanks for the observation. A lot of those small background sounds and tints were made through abusing clips into producing audio artifacts. Some people call them flaws, I call them neat side effects. :-P BUt I really enjoy cutting up and working with cdk’s material.
