it’s funny, i was channelling buddy holly when i wrote this. and buddy, you know what a nut HE is, told me to stick my head in the dryer to do the vocal. so we have major appliances on two continents contributing to this wonderful window on the 50’s. thanks for another top-notch track. p

I love this one of Panu’s and this is a lovely mix of it - perfect for drifting to on a warm spring night. That’s what I’m going to do now.

stellar backup vocals! I think they really make this version.

And if you keep this up, that washing machine will one day end up in the ccMixter Hall of Fame!

Very sweet, very very sweet. I only wish the people who handle my bank account had your number sense. It was 101 reasons, not a million, but I’ll take the nod all the same.

Get yourself a proper recording environment. I’ve heard of people doing all sorts of things on washing machines, but I don’t recall singing being one of them :-).

…and nice song Panu … could always use a bit of lift up especially in these trying times…

panu has always reminded me a bit of james taylor, and your arrangement seems to really bring that out here for me. i think the thing that i can really appreciate about what you’ve done, and i know spin has mentioned this somewhere, is the appreciation for the harmony vocals. what you’ve added vocally really adds so much to panu’s vocal, and really illustrates why i wish more singers took the time to contribute harmony vocals.

not a diss at all to panu, who’s contributed some of the finest pellas to the site. you just bring new dimension to his work.

I think one of the observations in the Remix sense is when someone works the vocal to the point of writing a new song. Its a fine line, but if someone only pays a small amount of time to an acapella just because it fits their chords, or often does not, then it shows.

The voice is the one bastion that cannot be replicated by a machine, many have tried. The people who sing cannot be replaced by technology, the people who just remix the music can.

There is enough technology out there to make anyone a better singer and perhaps that should be a target for every remixer who has never tried.

I just give it a shot as its still a learning curve for me and a joy to do, but people like Panu will always get my attention rather than a mixed set of bleeps beats and samples.

I think if you had stood next to a sewing maching - preferably a Singer the backing vocals would have been better. As it is they are just merely great!

Well done for going back in time and creating this smooth track.

Can I request something a la Val Doonican for your next one:O)

What a sweet treat! I’ve been searching for just the right music for when I do laundry — I need not look further! Thanks.
