About Me
My actual honest-to-goodness name is Mikael Hansson, but have been making music as Colab since I was a kid.
I got my musical schooling as a dual major in piano and synths - my first synth was a Roland SH-5 accompanied by a synced TB-303/TR-606 combo and recorded on a two-track Fostex with tape delay.
I’m a bit older now and have moved to working in software - I do all my work in Propellerhead Record/Reason from my (very small) home studio in Toronto, Canada and seek out collaborations with people wherever good music can be found.
I still don’t get paid for the music I create, but I’m increasingly growing to be OK with that.
