Tools I Used

Ableton

Native Instruments - Session Horns
Native Instruments - Razor (Space Clavi)

Process

First bar: Guitar and drums sample from the start of “Creative Commons Speaking”, transposed up 2 octaves.

Second bar: The same sample is transposed down in steps with smooth pitch drops between.

Sixth bar: A lowpass filter takes out the top frequencies so it leads into bar 7, which has a lot of bass and hardly any treble. At the same time reverb is added to give something for the filter to bite into.

Bar 7 and 8: Short reverse samples.

Verse1 and 2: Mix of double time and normal time samples from Bellow. Added my own horns melody.

Break: Double time samples. Brief samples of bass.

Verse3: Double time sample starting with a strong 1/24 tremolo and filter, half way through the section, the amount of tremolo is reduced.
The flute sample is repeated, filtered and dropped in pitch.

End: Double time sample filtered.
A resonator is brought in, which gives a brief harmonic rhythm.

Other Notes

This was really fun to do, I was smiling all the time at the craziness of it all.
