I’ve been long cynical and there has been much in our religions and society that has ruined “the Jesus Story” for me. I usually prefer songs of peace and the beauty of winter and the magic of the stars this time of year to typical Christmas hymns….

Not sure why I took on this ambitious public domain Christmas song today…perhaps given our Winter Lights, Nights theme and because this song is about a most notable Night (allegorical or otherwise). I’m not sure what happened to me, but the lyrics of this song really pierced me unusally. I found myself crying multiple times while trying to record. “law is love, gospel is peace….all oppression shall cease…” If only such a miracle could happen for us humans at this time in our history. Just imagining such a possibility gave me some sort of wild hope. Happy Holidays my friends. xxx
