I turned the twangometer way past eleven and loved the straight country melody and lyrics that Sassy wrote.
She came to the party dressed in a pink cowboy hat looking completely like “the farmers daughter”.
Lots of clean country fun had by all.

“Cowboys Never Run”

Think I was seventeen years old
he was a cowboy just the same
he’s talking with bright eyes roaming
closing my eyes
would never be the same

Saturday night is rolling
car wont start
its pouring rain
so suddenly close we’re holding
together at last
would never feel the same

And who said cowboys never run
with a heart
thats just been made
and who says heartache never fades,
when your young
but still unchanged

Now I’d made a promise to myself
not to fall
along the way
but baby I’m hurting
like crazy
for this cowboy
just the same
(I say)

Some of my friends were out of luck
found themselves a boy thats just too slow
Monday to Friday no pickup truck
Saturday night its rodeo

And who said cowboys never run
with a heart
thats just been made
and who says heartache never fades,
when your young
but still unchanged

Now I’d made a promise to myself
not to fall
along the way
but baby I’m hurting
like crazy
for this cowboy
just the same
(I say)

just the same

Twenty years on
we change you know
I moved the city
all lights a glow
but in my in my heart
its way too slow
too many suits
no place to go

And who said cowboys never run
with a heart
thats just been made
and who says heartache never fades,
when your young
but still unchanged

Now I’d made a promise to myself
not to fall
along the way
but baby I’m hurting
like crazy
for this cowboy
just the same
(I say)

for this cowboy
just the same
