This sample was created by:
a. initially laying down a riff on a can-jo;
b. converting the riff to MIDI using the freeware Wave Goodbye;
c. playing the resulting MIDI using the freeware anvilstudio
with the MIDI instrument setting “Music Box”;
d. applying the Magix flanger, time-stretch, echo and pitch-shift to the result.
The resulting sample is for those who like to make ambient music using dissonance. I’ve placed a complete piece using an extended version of this sample at:
