My mother was a great cook and my friend Alan always made a point of appearing at our house late on a Saturday when he knew my mother would have just finished baking. She was only too happy to let him sample her work.

Alan’s mother on the other hand thought that unless it came out of a can or the freezer than it was not worth eating.

I don’think Mykle had these thoughts on his mind when he wrote these lyrics but they go with the pies and cakes very nicely!
