This is a stellar performance Zep! Reminds me a tad of a Fleetwood Mac song in the intro(Hypnotized). Love the swing feel.

I agree. This is an excellent take on the vocals - very smart chord progression, and terrific production.
Nice nice nice. |

I was wondering for some time why your tracks sound soo good although the genre is not always really mine … until I read from Graham Cochrane (TheRecordingRevolution.com): “your drum sound determines how good the rest of your tracks will sound”.
And that’s really it! Your drum tracks are always outstandig. And this carries all your remixes easily with them. Great! Do you have some tips how you make your drum tracks? |

Thanks man. I’m glad the percussion parts sound good to you. I (as a drummer) try to allocate alot of time to build the groove.
I don’t know about tips, but I have two main points when remixing virtual drum tracks: Good source sounds and building a working groove. Working groove includes some very quiet ghost notes with the snare (usually). And additional groove components come from other instruments or delay channels. The rest is just experience and intuition and eh…. dunno … luck. ;) |

Knocked down with the referee standing over me counting…dazed and confused. The sick notes of funk and soul spinning around in my head. Struck by the uppercut of taste and talent zep..truly amazing!
I am in NYC, its hot and humid and fire hydrants are being opened in the streets to cool folks down. This mix is perfect for the day. Wish I had a big old school boom box to blast this one out. Headphones and a smart phone will have to do. Thanks again bro! |
