This is just a great remix.
I would advise anyone to listen on headphones as the use of the stereo space is just first class. True to your roots as always it’s a Depeche Mode, Thomas Dolby’ esque classic. |
.
a belated public thanks for your kind words.
Indeed I had great fun messing with the stereo spectrum on this one, and that tends to be easier to discern on headphones. |

I would like to recommend listeners here to have a listen to the original too.
For me this version is much better than the original one (Sorry Mr. Ahmad!) Powerfull drums that really kick and very skillful fx and reverb treatment. The choice of synth sounds is excellent. You did a real good job on this remix. I can hear the pleasure you must have had by doing this. Hopefully you will do more mixes like that in future! |

You are always too kind, TJ!
It was indeed fun to mess with more powerful drums while also using a typically more gentle harp type of sound with underlying soft pads and a few airy chords. I was fascinated by that apparent contrast, and I’m glad you liked the outcome. |

I would not have minded if this one went on for the full 7-10 minutes. I loved this mix from the first time I heard it. A solid beat, fantastic vocal treatment, just all around great work, one of your best Spinmeister, without question. This is another of those rare mixes that uses sonic space so well, it is equally compelling on headphones as it is out in the open.
Great job and sorry for not leaving my comment sooner :-). |

blush! Thank you for your so very kind words, essesq!
I’ve never dared to make a 7-10 minute remix, because the main audience here are fellow remixers. In that context I always try to keep my remixes short, so as not to overstretch the listening time investment of my fellow remixers. Kind of funny how a site like this almost returns us to the classic 3 minute radio song. |

Your support music sustains the exotic atmos of this piece…I was right there with the Dervish …
your mixing skills are evident. Enjoyed your page. thanks. |

thanks for slugging through my entire page, AM! As you can tell, I very much like different genres of music with many different feelings. And being able to pick from such a wonderful variety of music here at ccMixter is such a treat. I wish I had more time or would be a lot faster when remixing. Unfortunately it always takes me quite a while to become sufficiently immersed in a piece of music to figure out where I want to take it. I’m quite envious of those, who can do that in one afternoon.

Spin — you are f***ing brilliant! Your musical choices and production skills are top notch! Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this Bollywood via The Rainbow Room mix!

Thanks for your sweet and salty words, SJ! :-) It always feels especially cool when someone leaves a note on a remix that normally rests quietly in the ccM archives! And if that someone is you, it’s twice as nice! :-)
