Good ears. That varying delay was one of those ‘happy accidents’ you hear about. Somehow I had two copies of the guitar track in the project at different bpms. So I let the slower one drift away from the faster one for a bit then sliced it to re-align with the faster one. Slicing it again when it felt right to re-align again, drift again, slice again, etc.

Actually none of the elements line up, technically.
