This reminded me a lot of Joe. It is still quintessentially you, but the way some of the vocals are put in, the distorted guitars on the edge of feeding back, it just has this slight Babies feel to it!

Yeah I can hear that now that you mention it. A sort of raw theatricality? Here’s to Joe. Not a bad influence to have had.

You feel different, and now because of listening to this I feel different too.

You’ve gone about this track with such complete abandon that it just blows me away. The vocal work is incredible.

What I love about some of your pieces - and this is one of them - is that they’re like an aural version of that visual thing of trying to see familiar objects as merely abstract shapes. You focus the mind on sounds for themselves rather than expectations. xxxx

Sometimes I find it hard to put down in words what I think about your music because it’s not an intellectual process for me, It’s more about what kind of emotions your music evokes and what images I see. This time I see fire, some sort of rituals but not of the dangerous kind. Mysticism you can handle…sort of.

Different from? Different than?

There’s a descent into a state to suggest some sort of chaos, but it all fits together so well, it does not devolve into a morass at all. Rather, it coalesces into a rich rhythmic sonic experience. Reminiscent of Tom Waits in the best possible way. Bravo sir Speck!

This reminded me of David Byrne in some respects (but still completely Speck!)
It also makes me think a Speck/Anchor vocal collab would be AMAZING :-)
