This has happened several times now, where folks upload 5-15 separate tiny sample uploads rather than archiving them together into one zip when the total doesn’t even amount to 2 Mb.
I would think uploading ONE file is less work for you than uploading SEVEN, it sure is easier to download one file as opposed to seven. I’m not saying you did anything wrong, I’m just wondering out loud (and soliciting advice) as to how the site could be better about guiding sample uploaders through the process of making things easier not more cumbersome for potential users of these samples. |

right i hear you loud and clear. but i thought about that before this last upload. i have downloaded zipped deals in past from cc and other sites. and since there was no way to preview what i had downloaded.many times i ended up with 1 sample i could use. i find i rarely download samples or loops with out a preview of what i am getting. but i do plan on uploading very soon a collection of loops, samples, ect. i hope some will understand what i am saying.

ok, so it comes down to previewing, got it, that makes sense.
For future reference, when you go to an upload’s page you can select ‘Manage files’ and upload a streaming version of your library so people can ‘preview’ one or more of the samples. I guess that could be clearer when uploading sample packs… Still, ironically, ‘streaming’ and ‘downloading’ is exactly the same action to our server and your browser. You’re actually burning bandwidth and time by previewing all the samples in your media player and then ‘downloading’ the ones you want. Again, I’m not being critical or defensive, just want to make it work for everybody — beleive me I understand how much people love to hit the ‘stream’ buttons on our site ;) Would it be ok if there was one zip file with a way to preview each of the files in it (like we did with the Magnatune catalog) ? |

preview to me is the key. the one zip file with a way to preview each of the files is 100% better and sounds to me the way to go. cool.thank you.

A fantastic ambient sample. I certainly hope to make more use of it in the future. I’ve played around with it with various effects, slices and splices and it just warps so well. Thank you for uploading it!!
