Mmmm, this is frankly amazing! First off, how the hell did you manage to change the vocal melody while keeping the original intonation and timbre?! That’s impressive in itself. But then the whole track is infused with real emotion. In fact everything is just right and the mix really succeeds. Kudos man!

Glad you like it!
Yes the melody is that of Ducketts mix and the root chord of F is where it starts from but the secret if there is one is to make sure the prominent bass line hits your main notes as you sing them. Ducketts track lends itself to this as the tune meanders away from the root key and back allowing the various notes to intertwine! Or it was just good luck :) |

Oh yeah, loved it from the opening bar! What a fantastic interpretation If you’re willing to give your secrets away, what is that ethereal vintage sounding thing in the background (comes in around 42 seconds in, to be specific!)? Reverse reverbed wurlitzer played by David Lynch, I dunno, but it works so well!

Thanks for the remarks.
The sound I think you’re referring to is from Ducketts source as I only added the bass and lead guitars and the percussion. |
