[big smile!] Ah, I’ve an affinity with the said sheep and horses. “Plotting their escape”… LOL. Nice one!

This is about how all poetry readings should go, with Haskel noodling away off to the side! :)

Seriously, the music accentuates the story told in the poem, the black sheep standing out, even at times when they don’t want to.

Well the title on its own is brilliant. I wish I’d thought of it. And I love the poem. Doesn’t everyone want to be a black sheep and/or a dark horse? Are they always male? Really outstanding piece, Deb. xxxx

I’ve listened to this so many times with the intent of leaving a review, but your poem is almost too moving to comment on. As I write this I realize I just want to go back read/listen to it again.
So, really like your delivery and how you cut up the parts to create almost a live improv kind of feel. Well done.

almost too moving to comment

Can’t resist this one - “reining in an impulse to shirk” - great.
