good work. different than most of your stuff. i’m pretty glad i put up the whole track rather than a loop. my laziness is your advantage.

is it possible for you to change the reference to the actual song rather than the sample. I plan on replacing the sample track with a loop or two in the future. that way i can feature a full quality sample track without hogging too much space and still have older samples up.

Thanks for the responses guys. Fujimo - I think you would have to change the name of the sample to reflect the song you want referenced. I can only choose the file title that its tagged with and as far as I know I’m unable to change or alter the title. If there is a work around let me know and I’ll be glad to change it. Well, if I use it again I’ll change it because I don’t think you can edit samples used in a song unless you get someone at admin to do it for you. Those guys are pretty busy, but maybe if you make a request in the forum they’ll look out for you.

I love this.

And yea, I actually took the week off but I’m back now, if there’s something you need me to do let me know.

(What does occur to me is to put up a ‘warning’ when deleteing or replacing tracks on the site when there are remixes attached.)

yeah, i just checked. you can’t change the references to a track. but i can replace the samples in a reference without deleting the track. that’ll work.

People have been asking me on the road how I’d feel if someone remixed my stuff to change the meaning. So thank you for making that scenario real.

I’ve been saying that I think it’s inevitable, especially when talking about social and political issues. It may give other spoken word poets pause when submitting their stuff, but I still think it’s worth submitting.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you for understanding. I actually had a small quibble with myself about that, mostly because your piece seemed to be introspective and I didn’t want to seem disrespectful. Since it is on the CCMixter site, I assumed you wouldn’t be too irritated by it. Glad you liked it (and there is truly a meaning to the chopped up spoken word, not just trying to be funny).
