This is very good. The singing, the music, the arrangement, and the lyrics. I really enjoyed listening to it. In fact, I’m having another listen now. Sounds fabulous.

I think I just decided to keep everything simple and it seems to work that way. Thanks so much for commenting.

This is really cool… the mellow half-spoken, half sung lyric serves the words and their imagery really well, and I think the groove becomes hypnotic underneath the vocals.

The addition of the brass and SackJo is a nice icing too. :)

I did add in a few more horns at one point but I came to the conclusion I was gilding the lily. I’m glad I left them out now and that you’re happy with the results.

Great. Bob’s GTR is epic, but your lyrics are excellent—very strong and original images. Great track.

You are one of the most credible artists around here and this is a good example of why.

My singing generally seems to have improved quite a lot recently but I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s just raised my game working with these samples on mixter that are musically so much better than anything I could come up with myself.

I really dig your work. You are a terrific writer — the poetry of this lyric is damn expressive. Love how you use source. And your delivery is fantastic. I could not help but think of Leonard Cohen when listening to this song given the lyrical integrity and your direct performance. I’m so pleased to be part of your musical world — thanks for including me.

I’m not very good at taking compliments, as you can probably tell, but I couldn’t really wish for a better one.
