The whole Captain Tom story is an amazing one. I remember less than a year ago watching the first story on him on the BBC. From this small begining we followed him as his story unfolded. Some say what is so special about an old man trying to raise some money for charity but that is not what it is about.

What Captain Tom reminded us of is that we are a resilient species that has survived so much since we first appeared in The Great Rift Valley and that despite this virus we will push forward to greater things
