Industrial grooves with existential poetry, pushing us toward higher thought and renewal. This colossal death soon ushers a new birth.

Soon the dead’s night comes. And I just love the spooky season overall! But digging through Mr’s crates really put me in my kind of mix mood and feeling introspective about the grand cycle of things.

Super wild we pulled each other! Such perfect matching for the sensibilities.

I know comparisons/associations can be tedious but I have a feeling you might appreciate knowing that this reminded me of Grant Beran’s audio work.

I don’t mind comparisons! Especially such flattering ones.

My work is deeply inspired by whatever name you wanna call that nameless art umbrella from No Wave to post punk to coffee house art to modern experimental “remix”/”back looking”/”retro” art. So truly any comparison in that spectrum feels both deeply on point and deeply flattering.

I’m making a Halloween party ccm playlist, and it’s going to start with this.

Well crafted dark Louisiana industrial, swampy, bayou voodoo out by the oil rigs and fish shacks audio track, PC.

I waited for the lyrics to start. Is there a second version?

Not yet. Maybe I’ll try to record a condensed version or slightly more intended to be lyrical rewrite of the accompanying poem. But also, of course, anyone is free to take it and throw a vocal layer on top! :) But I’ll see what I can do this week for one or two things that may fit. (And if I do, I’ll upload as pells regardless)

I don’t know what to say really. Listened twice. If there was a ‘best of’ element to this secretmixter thing this would get my vote.

That such a kind thing to say! And really SO MUCH credit goes to Mr here. It was frighteningly trivial to work his stuff into my general vibe/style. Perfect crate dive. Such minimal chopping/warping compared to my more usual workflow. And it was funny and awesome it was a mutual draw this time around! His mix of me was 100% bang righteous.

Gothic worldbeat if that wasn’t a thing before, it is now

I mean, there’s been A LOT of Goth and worldbeat in my rotations! (Along with a lot of No Wave and a few other bits that I can hear through thinking this way about it.) But for real, what a cool compliment!

You’ve really brought out the best in Yesterday’s tracks. Well done on this mix, I really like it.

I’d like to think we brought out the best in each other! It was kind of fun drawing a mutual pick this round. It was such a fun reveal day for me. But for real thank you for saying such a kind thing about the way I handled his stuff.
