Hi Zep and thanks for this. Checked your link and yeah, SAHB were fantastic, so original—good ol’ days! I’m not sure where I originally heard this song and basically played it from memory (probably got some words wrong). I think Sandy Denny (Fairport Convention) may have done a version or something similar, but that’s just a vague half-memory. I started by dropping the bottom guitar string to D and messing about with chords—the folk song then suggested itself and I recorded it right off the bat in a single take.
