Oooooh I like it Nice clean mix (apart from the deliberate distortion at the end). I like the way you paced it and the way you chopped up the words towards the end.

.
Thank you so much for helping me with the dry file. I wanted your words to slice through the track. Very pleased you like it!

This is probably the first Spoken Poetry piece that I found myself head-nodding to the beats. The cadence is excellent. The backing/ accompanying sounds are so ‘there’. Oh, nice work on the whammy bar.

.
Head-nodding is a good thing ;) Many thanks Ivan!

Oh man! This reminds me of the best of King Crimson — say from “Larks Tongues in Aspic” or maybe “Starless and Bible Black.” It’s an audio uproar. I love it.

When I first heard your sample… I immediately downloaded it. Brilliant title, too. ‘tis the reason for my reusing it here. The KC albums you mentioned are among my favs from their catalog. I am not worthy. Thank you for reviewing!

This exactly brings to the fore what I like about Deb’s straight delivery of her excellent pieces - it leaves room for mixers to add their own interpretation. Your b/t is dark and gritty, and I like the rather ‘clashy’ sounds that mirror the idea of cutting tools in ‘Scars’. Great track, FB. xxxx
|
.
Ah…. You made that aural connection too; Regarding the “clashy” sounds. Those are Calling Sister Midnight’s. I’d had CSM’s sample and was looking for a vocal that would fit. Deb’s “Scars” fit perfectly (at least in my mind). Thank you for reviewing! I may just make a remix about “short legs”, just for you :)

.
Oh please do a ‘short woman’ mix, FB. There are some advantages to being small: you can hide more easily from bores. xxxx
|
|
.
It’s peculating in the back of my mind at this very moment. There are times I wish I were shorter. Bending over to work on anything is tiresome. Short woman mix coming in the near future :)

Petites everywhere are frothing at the mouth with anticipation. It’s not pretty but it’s genuine. xxxx

Great use of the samples — I love hearing Deb in here (this happens to be one of my favorite Deb poems too). Bravo my dear Babies!
