One as a remix, one as an acapella, one as a sample. When in fact all three are remixes. Gaming the system. Not cool. Also, it doesn’t work. The more rapidly you upload, the less listens you get. At least that’s been my experience. I’ve also read in the forums that your plan for uploading more than one Secret Mixter mix is to upload a ‘megamix’. Again - not cool. The idea is for everyone to make/upload one mix. If you have more than one it/they can be uploaded separately as regular, properly categorized, uploads within the allotted time restrictions. I understand (and share) your enthusiasm for being heard, but the ADMINS have stated/created certain guidelines they feel make the site work smoothly and fairly. I think we ought to honor that.

You are a loooong time contributor here and I respect you and your input for that. I did want to follow up and say you will still see that particular megamix outside the event downloads and a few like it over time because I’ve discovered the Wired Magazine materials from 2004 are valid enough to be streamed. But it is my theory that to satisfy the Sampling+ license I can’t release any under the same title or stand alone. It hinges on the word “transform” on the license. Plus I think the right to audio and the right to a track title are two separate beasts. So I’ll be remixing most of those tracks, but all will be released as megas when they come out because of this. I’ll find a unifying theme, I always do. So yeah you’ll still see a few, but I’m not ignoring your feedback. Those megas will exist for legal reasons.

Just not for the Secret Mixter thing where we’ve been asked to only upload one mix. btw - I also make more than one mix when I participate in the Secret Mixter. Then (the hard part) I spend the next couple weeks vacillating over which one to upload. This time I think I’ll upload the one that sounds the most celebratory. It being titled the Celebratory Secret Mixter and all.

I went from being casual musician to semi-pro professional streamer and it’s kind of cloud of my thinking a little honestly. I mean I would kind of cheat the system a little bit here and there back in the day when I would post more sporadically and maybe it didn’t matter as much then. But right now I’m hardcore contributing a lot so… If it’s someone’s job to listen to my music like they’re actually responsible to listen to all the music that I’m making their job harder 🤣 and I’m kind of known as a bit of a labor advocate so that doesn’t sit right with me. But yeah I think what I’ll be doing is uploading my one certain song no hints bwahaha and then just hot linking the streaming song in the properties field.
