Process
I started from Rey Izain's bass and drums, converting both to midi.
The piece has each instrument playing the rhythm, which is an improvisation of the bass line, then stepping back to play a different backing rhythm.
Additional instruments come in as the tune progresses.
I tried to make a lot of light and shade whilst keeping the bass line trucking along. Methods I used were, dropping out the bass, moving the lead from high to mid, changing leads from acoustic to electric, changing the placing of notes and chords etc.
