How I Did It
by Admiral Bob
Samples are used in:
Tools I Used
Fender Telecaster, Vox VT-30 amplifier, M-Audio Keystudio 49i, Fender P-Bass, BOSS Dr. Rhythm.
Samples I Used
Javolenus guitar line. I fashioned a song out of the lyric of snowflake's Free beer contribution.
Original Samples
I dubbed Javolenus guitar line, added bass, piano, and added some volume swells on the guitar... oh, and did a drum part. Then I sang a whole bunch of vocals, a la Sackjo.
Process
I actually started with the piano. Then lined up Javo's guitar part just after it. Welded it together with some bass work and a tap in on the toms (on the drums), then dubbed Javo's guitar with the Telecaster through the VT-30. Because Javolenus used virtual amps, his guitar part is a bit noisy, so I used a real amp to try and get the white noise volume down, and added a gate to Javolenus' part.
Then I sang the verses, followed by the chorus, which has been mixed with hard left and right pans to change the stereo effect from the verse parts.
Other Notes
Got my inner CSNY out there. :)
