Ableton Live 8, Cockos Reaper, Alesis DM5 e-drums, M-Audio Oxygen MIDI controller, Alesis MultiMix8 Firewire mixer, lots of VSTs.

Process
It started with some piano riffs in Live. I looped it and just played with various textures and leads until the idea solidified a bit. This piece actually went through several different incarnations (not all of them upbeat) before settling out. I did a rough arrangement in Live, then exported the stems and moved into Reaper. Lead synths and drums were added there, as well as all effects and mastering. Drums were recorded onto several tracks and each tweaked as needed for crisp highs and fat bottom end.
Other Notes
I really enjoyed making this one. It's a fun, happy song (could probably be a bit shorter). I did have tentative lyrics but never got around to having anyone record them. Let's see what you can do :)
