ElRon, Dave, Speck and Bob amplify one minute ten seconds with Frank Zappa, Congress and Low Budget Orchestra

Frank Zappa was a self described practical conservative in favor of small governemnt and low taxes. As Zappa put it, “Government is the Entertainment division of the military-industrial complex.”

A great entertainment moment in late 20th Century political head butting was Frank Zappa telling the CNN Crossfire co-host Bob Novak that he was a conservative. Gotta love it. Another great entertainment moment political head butting was Frank Zappa’s testimony to the U.S. Senate in 1986 addressing the notions of written lyrics or lyrical content rating for parental review at point of sale, and a blank media tax aka blank tape tax.

Remember home audio recording histeria of the 1980s and early 90s? The Audio Home Recording Act? Commodity tape cassettes? In 1986, vinyl was on its way out as a commodity media with cassettes and then CDs to follow into end of life.

Here samples of Frank Zappa’s contribution to the Congressional Record and in the public domain are remixed with samples from ElRon XChile, “Scatman” Speck, Admiral Bob and David Bruce.

Chopped Admiral Bob’s bass sample into what you hear. Used a bass tonic note repitched to create a simple Motown pattern.

Molested Speck’s scat singing. His spoken words remain unmolested.
