A song about returning to my home town and mending a few bridges.
Many thanks to John Anealio for the nice samples from his song “Rachel Rosen”. I’ve uploaded the pell and would love someone to put a different take on it.
Here’s the words;

Went down to my local library
had this book since 1990
and she said oh so politely
You better bring it back now

I bumped into this girl her name was Kerry
She used to be cute
but kind of scary
“You’re the one that left and took my cherry”
she said “You better bring it it back ”

cause all those times
That I have found
take a another sip from your wine girl
listen to this town
step back and see our lives been changing
but I don’t see how
old books still there but rearranging
I better bring it back now

I better bring it back now

cause I can see you now
in our year book wow!
pig tails and your dress too short
with a fire your eyes and that pain disguise
wearing that ring from the store I bought
but I still wonder how
I could’ve left you now
couldn’t spend all my time in the sametown
but I know I’m back here to settle down
now I guess I better bring it back now

Cause all those times
That I have found
take a another sip from your wine girl
hey listen, settle down
step back and see my lifes been changing
and I don’t know how
old books still there but rearranging
You better bring it back now

And I can’t hide
from the tears you cried
wrapped up in my tattered suitcase
with my pride
and tell your Dad that I’m back with a new face
and I’ll be running wide
Tell your Mom that I’m back with a bad taste
that I wish I’d never tried
(wish I never lied to you babe)
I better bring it back now
I better bring it back now
repeats
