Finding inspiration from CDK’s extensive collection of sounds was quite easy. I downloaded about 15 different songs/samples that I planned to play with… But when it came down to it, everything in “Sunday Sunrise + Sample Packs” was exactly what was needed to complete a song that was marinating in my mind…

The only sounds in this song that are not CDK are most of the drums (the timpani is his) and the vocals.

And so, thank you CDK for helping me get this out. Sorry it’s such a downer (that wasn’t the plan)… I hope you’re down with downers. :) Your music is emotionally inspiring. Thank you.

Here’s a link to the vocals- dry and with FX.

WORDS
I could bare my soul
Tell you things I’ve held on for so long
I could let it go
Be the way I wish I were

But you won’t recall
Anything, anything, anything
You won’t remember
Anything, anything, anything
When will you forget
Everything?

There are things that hurt
I used to think you chose to forget them
Things you don’t remember
I learned to block things out by the best man

But you won’t recall
Anything, anything, anything
You won’t remember
Anything, anything, anything
When will you forget
Everything?

Guilt and denial
Have been your prison for so, so long
Maybe you’ll break free
As you continue to lose your memory

But you won’t recall
Anything, anything, anything
You won’t remember
Anything, anything, anything
When will you forget
That you love me
When will you forget
That you love me
When will you forget
That you love me.

Editorial pick

Close your eyes, lean back in your chair and hit play on Kara Squares remix of Cdk titled Recall.
It will hypnotically take you away.
Kara delivers one of her finest vocal deliveries (imo). Even though it’s a bit of downer, I find it very soothing.
