A Gift Unwrapped Release is required for all creation A plant from the earth A child from the womb A word from a pen A breath from the voice. Release from the old Makes way for the new Allows the innovation To arise from necessity Where to cling Would close opportunity’s door. At year’s end we acquire Hold tight to tradition, Relatives, friends and each other We aspire to perfect memory creation To make something worthy To hang onto into the future. If we could let go Be for this moment At peace We could then pause Amidst the rush of expectation Stop capturing the past for our future And be for the present A gift unwrapped. essesq 2012
