From my upcoming debut EP, where thoughts go to die. Dedicated to my grandfather, who lost a hard-fought battle with metastatic liver cancer on Christmas Day last year, and to any and all who have lost loved ones during the holiday season. On a… less sombre note, I’m very obviously not a formally-trained singer in any way lol. I ask only that you try to look past it haha (and I thank Graillon 3 Free Edition for her services haha). Speaking of vocals, the reason the “backing vocals” you’re hearing in the full mix aren’t included in the stem files I uploaded is because… I really just duped the wet main vox, used Graillon’s pitch-shifter to take it down about 5 semitones, turned the gain way down and cut out certain parts. If I’d have recorded actual harmonies I’d have totally included them. I just didn’t want to feel like I was giving y’all the wet main vocal stem twice, basically. I used 7-Zip to create the .zip files. Let me know if you encounter buggery! Written, produced, recorded, mixed and “mastered” by me entirely in my bedroom. Lyrics Life Life goes on And yet (and yet) It’s that time of year again Cheer and joy and holler For the rest of them But not for me No, no Don’t they know Everything has changed The world is upside down Helter-skelter, flesh, decay I buried you again But now you’re here Haunting every corner And dimming the light I missed you when You left to dance With the angels And play amongst the stars And yet you’re here And all I feel is fear ‘Cause it’s that time That time of year again
