This track is one of the reasons while I am still a huge fan of the 80s, so no need for apologize in going to nostalgic areas ;-)!

Your technical and musical production is awesome, this is for my taste a radio ready mix.
Love the “voicebox” effect on the e-guitar, as well as the 80s synth sounds that come here and there to emphase the mood. Very relaxed groove (great bass playing!). Third listening now, but forgive me, where is the 12 string guitar?
Wished you would have put more in the foreground….
This is a worthy track in best tradition of finest 80s pop music!

And don_t worry I always will forgive you trips like these! :-)

thanks for your kind words, TJ! Yeah, the 12 string is more present at the start and the first verse, but not that easy to pick out after that, because I used it more to supply that ambiance that only a 12 string can do. I was a bit afraid of going too kum ba ya :-)

Truly what an honour.

Saturday here and this is the conclusion to a very trying week.

50s,60s,70s,80s,90s,2000s, who cares i got remixed and it sounds great. I would ED pick it but its a bit obvious isn’t it. ;-)

Thanks for doing this Spin.

actually the honor is all mine - without you I probably would have never made a second remix after monkeying around with that fateful first one.

Your song, by the way, is exquisitely well written - revisiting a classic theme but making it all your own - and your voice is great. I hope you’ll keep using it!

Thanks for your kind words and for being around!

Well, this quickly became a guilty pleasure- in the sense of downloading it, putting it on loop, and leaving some more dead skin on my guitar :-)

thanks D! It works best with the capo in the first fret! :-)

thanks CL! I’ll never match your smooth sophisticated remixing refinement, but I have to confess being inspired by it!

Thanks for your kind woof, DR! Looks like both of us were drawn to that LS vocal like moths to the flame!

Ah the 12 string guitar.

In my time I fancied my self as quite an exponent of the instrument until I had the great misfortune of being introduced to Leo Kotkke at the Cambridge Folk Festival one year. Up until this time I had never heard of him. He very kindly offered to show me some alternative tunings!

As soon as I went home I removed 6 of the strings and cried very quietly!!

There’s no Leo Kotkke here either but you’ve got a great sound going here with an A+ production.

thanks for your kind words, RT! All I can say in my defense, that my enthusiasm for various instruments far outstrips my ability :-)

Oops!!

I was referring to the style of playing in my comment and not the quality. Does not read well though I must agree. So no offence intended and there’s nothing wrong with your playing believe me!

I know your a busy man Spin but you really should produce more music, sometimes you forget how good some people are not only in production, which is great but also musical playing skills. Really well done—-keep buying those toys and keep playing them well and get yourself a bigger room!

first of all, great mix and arrangement. i know you’re just being the humble producer but you could even bring that guitar up a bit in the mix (you seem to be deferring to everything else instead of punching your fills), in a dire straits kind of way. is the phased/wah guitar also the 12 string? just curious. well done!

Thanks so much for your kind words, MCJitB! The talking wah kind of guitar is my six string electric Ibanez S Classic played through Guitar Rig 2. And being quite a “slowhand” on instruments, I tend to be a bit shy about bringing the fills too far out front :-)

Hey So I realized I’d not really gone through your previous work, so doing it now.

This track has a real warmth… it fills up my lug holes with colour (the english spelling) and has my head bobbing like an idiot (you should see me… its not pretty). Anyhow, not hearing LS’s pella previously, your mix sounds like a perfect host for them, almost like they where written to the music in advance.

Did you produce for ‘take that’ by any chance? (they where an english boy band, huge in the early 90’s).

Enjoyed listening to this one. Thanks
