The backtrack you’ve created sounds amazing! Very nice harmonies, mixed and balanced very well! And I would’ve loved to play around with some of your stems or samples, if you had provided any…

What I don’t understand is why you’ve combined your backtrack with this vocal stem. I can’t recognize any connection between your backtrack and Snoflakes pella. Both together sound off beat, off harmony and off feeling…

I’m sure there are many acapellas here on ccM that could easily match your backtrack. Go find them! Just a suggestion though…

Please understand this as constructive criticism. I didn’t want to appear unpolite!

Best regards,
Tobs

The backing track was off the peg from Ableton, so I didn’t bother uploading that, even though it swings along nicely.

This is probably the most harmonious work I’ve made in years. I suppose it depends on your perspective. I wanted to experiment with randomly sampling Snowflake’s vocal as it was playing, and - for me - there seem to be a lot of interesting things happening in the the gap between the vocal and the backing track, both in terms of the beat and harmony.

And, after all, this remix event is called Adaptation: ‘Imagination reinvents and new sounds are brought to life.’

But not everyone is going to like them…

” Both together sound off beat, off harmony and off feeling…”

and that’s why I like it.
