The longer club style mixes don’t have the same response here as some cc listeners can’t seem to remove themselves from the computer and place themselves at a scene where the song would work. For example this would work with a high speed video montage, where time is being fast forwarded over several minutes. The pace of the music here dictating the cuts.

The concept is good…personally I would like some more ear candy to go with the nakedness of the guitar samples over drums to fill out the sound. More bass or synth?? or maybe take that guitar sample and repitch several times to create a melody. It seems like the melody could go in several different direction but the guitar sample instead takes a stationary rhythmic approach (like percussion) as opposed to moving and melodic. Ok I’m done rambling

The intro gets rolling with a great beat. I like the second section percussion, and the way it blends with a little electronica into the third. This feels like a sample that could be mined for quite different remixes. The mix is simple, clean and pure.

I like the way the beats are fairly minimal throughout. I keep thinking of offbeat melodic electronica that might leaven the piece a bit more—as is my custom, I also imagine morphing this into something somnolently slow.

Even though there’s a lot of variation here, I’d like to hear even more variation, with each motif carried for less time, to create, say, a 3 minute piece.

I like this one, though. It’s high-spirited.

hey rev, I didn’t review this when you first posted it because it’s very technically proficient so there wasn’t a lot of technical, audio or musically input for me to comment. It’s pretty far out of the genre of music I tend to listen so I can’t comment on whether you hit the x-4-on-the-floor mark or not — it sounds like it to me. So that only leaves commentary on the genre itself which, in the end, I don’t have hugely complimentary things to say about (personally I like either rich harmonic movement OR rich aural sensations and if you hit me with 5min+ of the same chord you better be john lee hooker) and I guess I was worried about discouraging you from uploading here — which is the last thing I want to do. I know we have an audience for this so don’t stop.

like i said, this might be the perfect ravin x-poppin thing for a 2am somewhere but it’s not my cup of earl grey.
