Your daughter wrote this when she was 10? Nice work. The poem sounds sophisticated (and very mature). I don’t think it’s just my adult interpretation. Or maybe that’s the beauty of it — how the same poem can context depending on when we read it. Like a good storybook.

Yes, she did write it when she was 10. She is nearly 24 now. She’s only ever written two poems, the first when she was 4…I can only vaguely remember that one…it’s very short and I have it written down somewhere.

I was surprised to notice the NZ-ish myself in a couple of the recordings! I have been to NZ but only for two weeks. I was born in England so maybe that’s where the Irish-ness is detected, but have been in Aus since age 7.
