Thanks for remixing my vocal sample Levihica - it’s funny, I was just ‘talking’ to snowflake about this song on Facebook as you uploaded it :-)

You are welcome Deb. It was a lot of fun. My skill fitting vocals is a bit shaky but I hope you liked it. I will re-upload a fixed one that is not so rushed at the end.

Uploaded new, improved version. Yes that is quite a coincidence.

I can’t help myself but this has a bit “french” style. It sounds to me like the vocals and music are slightly disconnected. Something I have heard is french style…but probably I am not right. :-)

Hehe have no idea. Honestly, I don’t even know what genre half my stuff is except the general House, Dance or EDM labels. Interesting comment. Can’t really say I know that french style. Please toss me a line if you care to elaborate ;).

Long time ago I had a discussion with a dj who played “french pop” in a munich club. We discussed the Album “Pink Elephant” by Mick Harvey covering songs from Serge Gainsbourg. And he said: Mick took the French out of the music.
Asked what he meant by it he replied: Serge didn’t care too much on timing his singing exactly to the beat.

That discussion I had in mind and that’s the reason I attributed it “french style”.

:-)

I see hahaha. Yes, I use a small element of “offness” sprinkled here and there on whatever element can use it. If something doesn’t quite work out, I just leave it sometimes. There is a musician named Nathan Fake that uses that technique and I love it. Makes for good tension. Guess it’s a personal taste thing. Thanks for reply keytronic. Oh btw, Bjork does that too.
