Hey ccMixter! It’s been a while!
Last year, I realized that there seems to be no recording of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” (AKA the Black national anthem in the United States) on ccMixter. It’s public domain, and uses some really beautiful chords and voicings. So this year, for Black History Month, I thought I’d try to fix that. This arrangement is really just me roughly noodling on the piano chords repeatedly rather than following the proper song structure. So, if anyone wanted to use this to follow the actual composition, some cutting/pasting of sections would be required. It’s 58 bpm in 6/8 time in the key of G. MIDI, MP3, and FLAC included. Enjoy!
